Brick slips on SIPS, animals and an Ice Cream. The day has been full of surprises.
The sun was out and the sky was blue, and being one of the hottest may bank holidays on record. Visitor expectations prior to the show were conservative.
Although after such a great day at Grand Designs Live, it seems that the weather halted very few. The sunshine had very little affect on the numbers.
This triumphant show appears for months on peoples calendars, and a bit of sun wont stop a grand design being planned.
Although not as busy as Day 1 or Day 2, the bank holiday monday can be forgiven for being a tad short on numbers, as the show still managed to be a hive of activity.
For the brick slips team those numbers did not affect the amount of enquiries. It seems that our products and range have a cult following in the nations capital.
Recommendation after recommendation.
It is always great to get positive feedback, when you put time, effort and resources into developing a business and product range that has such a great name.
Hearing that we have been recommended by designers, high profile clients and commercial installers is like music to our ears.
During our recaps on the Grand designs Live its great to mention some of the interesting questions which we are asked. There is no such thing as a stupid question and our team of experts are always happy to try and help.
Brick Slips on SIPS
Today we had a number of customers ask about whether they could use our products on SIPS .
If you have no idea what Sips are then here goes!
SIP (structurally insulated panels) is something that has emerged over the last 40 years. Countries like USA, Scandinavian and Canada all champion this method of construction. The system of building is not new but is becoming ever more popular on UK planning applications of recent years.
SIPS panels are made from a quality insulation board which has OSB or cement particle board fixed to either side. This method of paneling makes for an energy efficient, quick to install building component, that favours brick slips installation.
All SIPS are able to be rendered or clad to the customers desired surface.
The main thing to take into account when installing brick slips is that you must follow the boarding manufacturers guidelines.
When installed correctly they offer a great alternative to an externally rendered finish. Brick slips on SIPS do a great job of helping to achieve that real brick look on what is a timber board frame work.
Down Time
Talking shop for 10 hours is not easy and today the team enjoyed taking time out to eat delicious ice cream and also look at all the other great exhibition stands. The Garden section was great and includes hot tubs the size of swimming pools, BBQ’s you could cook a T-REX on and a stand where you feel like you have visited a zoo!
