Transforming a blank surface into a Brick Clad Heaven!
Brick Veneer, external cladding brick slips offer great flexibility when combined with new home building techniques.
Some call it Brick Veneer, some call it external brick slip cladding. In every sense they are the same thing.
Whilst browsing online you will probably see new build houses that appear to be made from solid-brick.
Masonry and brick work is traditional for UK house building. Its appearance is required on over 90% of UK planning applications.
This finish adds value to a home because of its solid, durable reputation.
However you may be surprised to know that many homes built especially within the last few years are not actually constructed of brick.
How is this possible?
Although a solid brick built home is a strong structure.
It can also be a very expensive method of house building.
Especially in an age when technology enables new homes to be prefabricated.
Prefabrication of homes is not a new thing but is now gaining huge momentum within the industry.
Built in aircraft hanger sized factories, on production lines that half costs and decrease build times.
This is the future of self builds as well as large scale housing.
Timber structures with insulation panels and electrics built in require finishing only on site.
To gain a finished appearance on site, a brick veneer of brick slips is applied by a team of tillers in a fraction of the time it would take to build the wall.
How does Brick Veneer differ from real brick?
The most important factor to take into account is that brick veneering and brick slips is not a structural part of the build.
It is real masonry and is made from real clay so will give all the same aesthetics as a standard brick.
The main difference is that a full brick will form part of the structure and will be load bearing and of structural importance.
Can you tell the difference?
When installed and used correctly, using our real clay brick slips you will never be able to distinguish the surface from that of a real solid brick.
Our emphasis on using real clay cannot be more strong at this point.
Concrete and resin brick veneer will leave the finished result looking faux.
Faux brick walls are generally easy to spot as the colourings and repetitive nature of the pattern are easily identifiable.
Real clay brick slips like the ones that we offer, really are the only way to guarantee that your external project will pass the “ are they real” test.
Real clay brick slips retain aesthetic benefits of full solid brickwork.
Like any clay product, the surface will be durable and can be treated as any other brick surface
Brick slips are a great way of providing a natural insulate barrier against the cold and heat.

Hi
Is it possible to use brick slips to cover old bricks on the outside of a house.
Rather than rendering the outside, i prefer the look of new bricks, but not sure if this can be done.
Is it an expensive option?
My property is a 4 bedroom detached house.
Kind regards
Vj
