Its that time again, Ask Andy is the go to place for those brick slip wall questions that your sure you need the answers too.
Its been a busy few months and it seems this blog is helping a lot of hungry brick slip information seekers. This month the top questions which you are desperately seeking the answers to are as follows…
I have ordered your brick slips, how do I cut them myself?
Brick Slips can be cut using a standard wet tile saw. As long as the saw has a cutting depth of up to 25mm you will be able to cut our brick slips.
If you haven’t got a tile saw and think you may need one, we do offer them on our accessories page.
How much extra should I order when purchasing?
When purchasing brick slip products in general, we recommend ordering 5% extra on standard projects and 10% on projects with lots of facets. As with all tiles, breakages can, and do happen in transit. We recommend using any broken tiles where you can for your cuts.
Any breakages over the 5% we will replace providing they are documented on receipt of delivery.
Do you have brick slip wall installers?
Brickslips.co.uk are a manufacturer and distributor we do not offer a fitting service.
We have installers that have purchased our products but since we haven’t seen the finished project, we can`t vouch for the quality of the work.
We would always recommend you contact a trusted local contractor or tile installer.
Trustpilot or checkatrade offer great reviews and can help any decision
I want to paint my brick slip wall, can I choose any brick?
During the brick slip selection process, one of the biggest decisions is what colour. When painted this is not an issue. The brick slip colour is irrelevant although the texture and size still remain a very important aspect.
White washing is a very popular way to paint your brick slips see our special White Wash brick slips feature.
How do I clean brick slips?
Correct installation shouldn’t require too much cleaning. Some brick slips with delicate textures shouldn’t be over cleaned or rubbed as this may alter the surface.
Wire-Cut or Smooth Textured brick slips can be cleaned using standard masonry cleaning products.
Please check the cleaning product manufacturer for details.
