Create stunning industrial look interior design projects using brick slips.

by Andy Hill · July 14, 2016

industrial

Derelict Manhattan style apartments, 19th century textile mills, steel forge workshops and even sea battered lifeboat stations, these are just a few of many diverse design ideas that have been floated in to us here at brick slips over the past few weeks alone.

This is an exciting era for our products and with the open mindedness and fresh injection of inspirational ideas from designers and DIYers across the country alike we are upbeat that our bespoke products are helping turn the dreary into the desirable and completely transforming interiors.

derelict

Creating an Industrial design using brick slips is fairly easy on any blank canvass, the hardest part is finding the right products and convincers once you have conceptualized your design.
Authenticity is key to getting a believable end product. The brick slips alone will allow you a base to turn your project into a workable medium.

If your idea has been inspired by an old abandoned warehouse then please please do your research, abandoned warehouses are not just brick work alone although the way you lay the brick slips can also add to the oldie world look see our brick pattern article, corn hole dental work and mock windows that are re-bricked can be easily done with magical results.
Take inspiration from the past and cultivate your own unique design ideas from your local past and history. Designing and implementing is fun and very rewarding and you should be adventurous in your approach and always look deeper into the subtle and quaint convincers.

indoor

Exposed ironwork contrasting with the brickwork and the use of steel tie bars are common in most industrial settings of the last 100 years so why not mock up your very own.
Places like Ebay, Gumtree and bidspotter are havens for reclaimed pickings. Although the reclaimed look is not always needed you can combine your reclaimed brick slips with the use of surface mounted electrical fittings, brushed steel or galvanized looks fantastic and really does give that industrial feel. Finally a splash of monochromatic artwork and the odd white washed wall and you are truly good to go.

Great, It’s very simple to find good idea’s like this however knowing that the brick works itself is something I can replicate with your products makes it so much easier! I’ll be book marking this site for future decorating idea sprees!
