Installation of Brick Slips

Brick slips are relatively easy to install.  You can either have a go yourself using our handy ‘how to’ guide or ask a tiler or general builder.

The installation process typically* involves the following steps:

Prepare the surface: The surface should be clean, dry, and free of any debris. Any existing paint or wallpaper should be removed.

Apply adhesive: Apply a rapid set adhesive to the surface, using a notched trowel. The adhesive should be applied evenly, following the guidelines.

Install the brick slips: Starting at the bottom of the wall, press the brick slips firmly into the adhesive. Use spacers to ensure an even gap between the slips.

Mortar: Once the brick slips have been installed, use the mortar pointing gun with your choice of mortar.  Please note, for fireplaces, we recommend the fire cement.

Maintenance of Brick Slips
