The heart of any home, the kitchen is primarily a functional yet stylish room. Above all, a place to gather and share sumptuous food surrounded by family and friends. Here we look at top brick tiles kitchen trends. Go and get the kettle on!
Brick Tiles – What are they?
Using brick tiles in the kitchen can totally transform the room. Primarily, brick tiles come from traditional clay bricks. The face of the brick is cut to reveal a thin tile of approximately 20mm. These tiles or slips, as we call them, are used (just like a tile) and adhered to the wall to create a real brick wall look.
Use in the Kitchen
From splash backs, to feature walls. The use is endless. We see some fantastic kitchen transformations. Our favourites are:
Splash backs
Framing the kitchen cabinetry is important. Above all, the choice of brick slips should complement the kitchen and its features. Because bricks contain many different hues, it’s easy to find something to match your style and decor.
Statement walls
We often see brick slips used as a backdrop to the kitchen. Likewise, accessorising the wall is important too. Industrial shelving and modern artwork is easy to install to brick tile walls, in addition, bright neon tube lights – a real modern twist. We love the recent project by one of our customers. Check out the case study here for inspiration.
Archways / hob areas
In beautiful cottages the agar is set within a arched area which looks perfect with brickslips. Similarly, their use around hob areas can focus the main aspect of the room. Using different laying patterns such as herringbone, and mixing brick tiles with porcelain tiles, is really eye catching.
Dining areas
Leading from the inside out…..brickslips feature in trendy dining rooms and flow through to the patio area outside on one fluid wall, separated by bi-folds – in other words, to give the illusion of the outside inside.
Brick tiles – the uses are endless! Have fun and cook in style!
