In answer to today’s blog title question, brick wall effect tiles are a surface tile which mimic and have the appearance of a real brick wall. Many different products are available within the UK.
Here at brickslips.co.uk we are known for producing quality real clay brick tiles. Our products are cut and engineered from real clay and real handmade and reclaimed bricks.

Why use brick wall effect tiles?
The main reason for using our brick wall effect tiles or brick slips as they are more commonly known is to create a surface that looks like it has been built, but instead has been clad.
Brick slips are used for speed and flexibility as well as aesthetics. Our products can be installed just like any other tile product. The brick slips can be used internally or externally to create any brick wall effect you desire.
One of the key plus points regarding brick slips is that you can install these yourself, you do not need an expensive builder or skilled tradesmen. This product is extremely DIY friendly. We can issue a full installation guide, and providing the guide is followed installing your brick slips wall should be a breeze.
What do they look like?
Our tiles are all individual and are cut to a thickness of 20mm, we offer four different standard cuts that when used where appropriate give the illusion of a full brick wall.

Brick slips – These are our standard tile, the appearance gives a full length face of a brick in stretcher profile. This is the core item and is the main tile which can be used to create many bond patterns.
Headers – These are the short face of a brick, Although headers can be used as “half bricks” they are mostly used to create specific brick bond patterns within the wall.
Corners – Corners are one of the most important types of brick effect tiles. Corners when used in 90 degree wall joints and door/window reveals give that unbeatable illusion of actual brickwork. Our advice with corners is use them, you can cut corners by butt jointing standard slips but this spoils the whole illusion of what you want to create.

Stretcher Reveals – Used for the underside of windows and doors. This product is cut from the front face and under cut of the brick.

Where can I use brick slips?
As mentioned before brick slips are extremely versatile and can be used both internally and externally.
Internally, brick slips can help to create that romantic ambiant fireplace you have always dreamed of. Brick slips can be used to create a single feature wall in a living space, adding texture and vibrance. If you want that manhattan loft look or the ultra modern industrial look then brick slips can do that.

Not only living spaces benefit from brick wall effect tiles, retail outlets, restaurants, bars, pubs and many other commercial outlets see their decorative benefits.
Externally, brick slips have gained great respect for use on restoration and regeneration projects.
Using new and diverse building methods means that many new buildings and homes require cladding as an alternative to render or paneling.
Brick slips can help to tie together new and old buildings seamlessly and with ease.
Its easy, why not give it a go
If you are looking to make a major impact and change the level to which your design requires. Brick slips offer elegance and a surface that can carry any theme or design scheme.
