If you have received your brick slips and you find yourself wondering about the colour, here is a little explanation to sooth your worries.
Manufactured using water
Our brick slips are expertly cut using specialist machinery. Water is an essential part of the machines cutting procedure. Keeping the blades sufficiently cool and lubricated. The water element to cutting also suppressing any dust created from the cutting process. Water is also used on our production line as a rinse to clean off any cutting debris that may be left over from the cutting.
Differences in brick slip colours!
Differences in brick slip colours happen when the slips are moist from cutting.
When they are wet they can be much darker in appearance than their eventual dried out colour.
The vast majority of our brick slips show slight variance in colour and have a high resilience to moisture levels, and others can have a high moisture level and colour wise be noticeably different.
The true colour of our brick slips will only be noticeable when they are fully dried out in situ.
Can I speed the drying time?
Taking the damp brick slips out of their box and laying them out will allow them to “breathe” and dry out faster.
Installing your brick slips when they are wet is not an issue though!
In reality the dampness can help to stop the adhesive drying out too quickly. Allowing for a firmer bond.
Do not worry…
Your brick slips will lighten once the moisture has fully gone. You do not have to delay installation you can install them whilst still damp.
