How much adhesive do I need?
Based on a 20kg bag of Rapid setting adhesive at a notched trowel depth of 6mm.
One bag of adhesive would cover an approximate brick slip area of 5m2.
Meaning every square meter would require 4kg of dry adhesive product.
Calculations are based on best case conditions.
The overall product coverage will be less on uneven walls. This is because the product is also being used as a leveling compound.
Although a general rule of calculation can be applied, the quantity of adhesive required really does depend on the overall quality of the substrate.
Best Practice
Applying flexible rapid set adhesive to the wall and to the backs of the brick slips allows for maximum strength and cure.
You should never apply adhesive directly onto bare gypsum or plastered walls. Sealed them beforehand using a PVA Primer is a must.
All product should be dust free and prepared prior to mixing the adhesive. This will give more time for fixing them on to the substrate.
Most adhesives initially cure within an hour forming a skin, you should always work quickly. Mixing smaller batches always helps minimize waste.
How many brick slips do I get in a box?
Standard 65mm Brick slips come in boxes of 30, this quantity has a coverage of half a square meter.
All of our standard slips come in half a square meter boxes.
Corners, Headers and stretcher reveals are all purchasable individually.
Brick slips Boxed
Brick slips come in boxes of 30 slips, these cardboard boxes comprise of two layers of 15 slips. the layers are separated and divided by a cardboard barrier. The seperator helps to keep the slips compact and stops any unwanted abrasion.
What are Stretcher Reveals?
Brick slip stretcher reveals are the front and underside profile cut from the brick.
Stretcher reveals brick slips are used when planning to position bricks under the underside at the top of a door or window reveal.
The use of stretcher reveals gives the illusion that real bricks have been used in the construction.
Expertly Manufactured
Stretcher reveal brick slips are very difficult to manufacture and cut due to the complicated nature of what is being made. Cutting the product so that it does not break takes highly skilled and experienced machinists.
Essential product
Stretcher Reveal brick slips are an essential product when you have to clad the underside of a window or door across a 90 degree angle.
