Brick slips projects are our game! We offer the highest quality products for all interior and exterior cladding transformations. In this article we look at everything you need to know about external brick slips!
What are Brick Slips?
Brick slips are the face of a clay brick that has been machined off into a tile format. The width of a brick slip is generally 20mm, however we do stock slips that are 14mm in our Elite Range.
Brick slips are used in a variety of applications. To clad entire buildings, and even in small quantities for interior fireplace revamps!
The majority of our commercial customer use brick slips for feature walls in offices, restaurants hotels ….. and even cruise ships!
There is also a growing trend of using brickslips to clad buildings to reinvigorate them and give them more curb appeal. You could even jazz up that brick wall in your garden or use on an extension to tie in with existing brickwork.
Measurements
Generally speaking, our range of slips are 20mm thick. This means that they are easy to install and don’t take up lots of space. This is important when tiling around external windows and doors.
Brick Slips of this range are 210 x 65 x 20mm and are sold per box. Each box will cover 0.5m2. A box has 30 individual brick slips in and weighs 15kg.
Corners can be purchased in any of our ranges. There are 14 corner bricks slips per linear metre.
Internal or External Brick Slips
All of our brick slips are suitable for internal and external use. Adhere external brick slips in the same way as internal brick slips. It is highly advisable to use Rapid Set Adhesive as it is water and frost resistant.
The brick slips themselves are made front clay bricks and are suitable for external use. There is no difference in installation between exterior and interior.
