We’re here to help! Below is everything you need to know about ordering extra brick slips and why.
Why do we suggest ordering extra brick slips?
We always suggest ordering at least 5% extra, this amount is there to cover cuts, breakages and possible mistakes made on installation.
Most often when a brick slips is cut the remaining piece of brick slip cannot be used anywhere else. These cuts all add up and can result in a shortfall when you come to finish the installation.
Corner brick slips are a product we would always advise ordering extra, often due to intricate installations. Corners often require cuts resulting in larger loss of brick slip area than you would have thought.
Why can’t I just place a new order if I don’t have enough?
Ordering extra brick slips after your initial order can be costly and time consuming, and due to the inherent batch variation with real clay bricks we couldn’t guarantee that the next order could be supplied from the same batch as your first order.
If you do end up placing an additional order take note. If it is under 10m2 then you would have to pay delivery on this. These are time and monetary costs your project could do without.
When placing a re-order you’ll also face the same lead time as any other order, so you will most likely have to delay your installation, which can end up costing you even more.
When it comes to ordering brick slips it is always better to have a little extra.
