Commercial Office – Mainland, Europe
Brickslips never looked so good.
The creation of a spectacular project requires the right set of key ingredients. Michelin star cooking requires skill and the finest ingredients. Artwork and music all require the top products and ingredients available to create the very best.
This European office project has combined real clay brick slips, large open spaces and colours to create a masterpiece in urban office design.
The designers have really packed a punch with the lines, aspects and textures within this office space. Glass curtain walling creates sound privacy and calmness for break out areas.
Concrete formation walls offer up a strong and bold industrial edge which cascades through the floor space. The concrete mixes with the impressivly high ceilings and industrial aluminium ventilation system to triumphant effect.
The key to office design is retaining an edge whilst conforming to the requirements of the business and its staff.
This design is a wondrous marvel, and colour plays a massive part in its branding and feel.
Brick slip walling occupies the largest open plan area, bringing realism and tradition to a distinctively modern and contemporary design.
The colour pallet of dark greys, white and black are interjected with a stunning and bright bumble bee yellow, which adds warmth and shine to the whole office.
To achieve this look our Old Bayswater Blend brick slips work extremely well in an office environment, and achieving this look is not difficult with this product. The key to getting the look which has been achieved here is use the correct pointing mortar.
The overall look of a brick slip wall can be changed beyond recognition by switching the mortar colours. This product would usually have a light grey pointing mortar. The designers of this project chose a dark grey mortar. The use of a dark mortar ties in with the dark painted ceiling and industrial light fittings.
Combining colours with brick slips is a great way of integrating a percieved structual element with what is commonly seen as a decorative element.
This is a fantastic case study which really demonstrates the use of brick slips and how they can lift the ambiance of a project.
Brick cladding works with most furnishings and colour schemes and here we see just how effective left field design is.
A wonderful result with suprising character.
