Castle Fine Art – Birmingham, UK
A fine project exhibiting our Knightsbridge Multi Brick slips
It was Henri Matisse that once said “Creativity takes courage”, when designing an Art Gallery being creative takes a lot of courage. The last thing any gallery wants is for the room to take away the attention from the art work. Our Knightsbridge Multi brick slips feature extensively throughout the latest gallery opening.
Subtlety and ambience are key to the design ethics of Castle Fine Arts ultra modern interiors.
Castle Fine Art is a nationwide chain of quality art galleries. Renowned for bringing quality artwork to homes and individuals across the country, Castle Fine Art has made Artworks accessible to all.
If you ever visit one of Castle Fine Arts galleries you cannot help but be inspired and drawn in. Known for featuring artworks of celebrity fame such as, Billy Connolly, Ronnie Wood and Bob Dylan these galleries continue to ignite a new generation of passionate art lovers.
Design
Castle Fine Art, Birmingham has been designed with the visitor firmly in mind. Our initial reaction to the layout and in particularly the use of our Knightsbridge Multi Brick slips was one of awe.
It can be very difficult to design exhibition spaces that do not over shine what they are exhibiting. The designers of this wonderfully ambient gallery have done just that.
A creative maze of white walls, nooks, booths and three dimensional surfaces bring this gallery to life. Around every corner visitors can see new and different artworks, genres and themes.
Against the white walls, timber flooring and dark industrial ceiling our Knightsbridge Multi brick slips bring a raw and earthy feel to the space.
The inclusion of brick slips helps to take away any clinical feel that could be interpreted from standard white walls.
The designers made use of the Knightsbridge Multi brick slips to create a stunning bar area, alight with eye catching art of its own. Social areas for refreshments are essential in modern day galleries as viewing art work of this standard can take a some time.
Product – Knightsbridge Multi Brick Slips
Our star piece of Art for this gallery is the Knightsbridge Multi brick slips. This unique product is cut from real clay bricks.
A slightly dark red clay which comes from the rich clay base, the key features of the Knightsbridge Multi brick slips are the light and dark tones which intermittently break up the canvass of any wall.
This gallery installation uses both standard brick slips and brick slip corners. The end result is an expertly installed facade that only adds to the creative flavour of the room.
The installers used a wide range of our products during this installation, rapid setting adhesive was used to fix the brick slips to the wall areas. The brick slips were spaced out using our 10mm brick slip tile spacers. Once fully dry the whole brick slip area was pointed up using our light grey brick slip pointing mortar.
Result
A great example of ambiance and how slips can comfortably work in a supporting role to a project.
