From time to time, great projects come along which we get really excited by.
The chance to feature one of our flagship products on Sarah Beeny’s Renovate don’t Relocate certainly had us jumping with joy.
This great case study shows the brilliant results which can be achieved when incorporating a brick slip feature wall into a project.
Background
Laura and Phil from Blandford in Dorset thought they’d bought the perfect home to raise their two boys Charlie and Sonny in. They knew the property needed work but when the sheer scale of the work finally sank in, they pressed the panic button and contacted Renovate don’t Relocate.
Sarah Beeny and her team set up monitoring cameras and forged a plan to totally change the layout of the ground floor, with some stylish twenty-first-century redesigns.
Design
Functional being the most prominent item on the design board along side space and storage. The design saw rooms being switched around and a larger entertaining communal space being created at the back of the house.
This area was given some great appointments including a bespoke cushioned seating area for entertaining guests. Bright walls and copious amounts of natural light has meant that the space has been opened up and given a new lease of life.
Within the design a full brick slip feature wall was added to give a very sheik and almost town bar style look. This amazing canvass of rumbles red brickwork has a stunning effect on the whole area.
Plants and greenery work in tandem with the surroundings and bring a natural and harmonious balance to the whole area.
Product
Real clay brick slips were used for this main feature wall in this project. Achieving an old and exposed look the Olde Bayswater blend was the perfect brick slip of choice. Rumbled worn and aged, the Olde Bayswater adds instant atmospheric character and charm.
Achieving this look the brick slips are installed using a rapid setting tile adhesive and are pointed using a gun injected pointing mortar.
Our Olde Bayswater Blend brick slips offer ample texture and a mix of subtle tones that work brilliantly across the feature wall.

When it comes to projects i think Laura & Phil and the team at Renovate don’t Relocate have done an amazing job of executing a project that not only delivers inspiring aesthetics but also a functional and spacious family space.
