Private Bar – Hull, UK
Serving up a splash of Olde Watermill
Recent global events have sparked a new wave in social living. “Why go to the pub when the pub can come to you”, words that seem far more prominent now.
Throughout the global pandemic the vast majority of us have still all lead busy lives. The pressures at work especially have been stressful. So when we are at home, we always seek ways on how we can blow off steam and just relax. This brings us to the rise in home pub and bar installations.
This wonderful case study shows how creative you can really be when building the ultimate home bar. Take a look at this great case study as we highlight the use of Olde Watermill brick slips throughout this splendid home project.
The design of this home pub certainly owes its routes to the aesthetics and characteristics of an Olde English pub.
The design has it all. Brick slip arches form the shelving area behind the bar giving a cosy homely feel. Accompanied with mirrors and glass shelves the whole area behind the bar glistens with spirit.
Solid wood bar tops and traditional pub stools give a great touch that leaves the senses pining for a double Jack Daniels on the rocks.
Clad timber beams and traditional panelling work seamlessly with the brick slip feature walls. This design allows for the small touches to be added, brass ornaments and framed photographs from days gone by bring a great sense of history and community.
Olde Watermill Brick slips are a firm favourite product for pubs and bars. A product which is regularly underrated the colour tones bring an unrivalled sense of authenticity to any room.
The brick slips have been installed expertly and pointed with an earthy realism. Something which echoes through the whole project.
The brick slip cladding was installed using our porcequick rapid set adhesive and set with a 10mm tile spacers. The use of dark grey pointing mortar on this project was a great choice, drawing the eye to the product and allowing the brick to pop out from the wall.
Overall the use of our products on this installation showcase just how realistic and special our brick slip products are when installed with a great design.
This private residential Pub project is a glorious and brilliant example of just how versatile Olde Watermill Brick slips can be.
Many projects of this kind can feel cold and heartless a stark contrast to this installation. Rich tones and textures, expertly lit and an inviting atmosphere. We would like to think our Olde Watermill brick slips have contributed perfectly to the inviting feel of this great room.(Larger images are available to the right side of this page)
