Brick slips as easy as XYZ
This case study offers up a great example of a modern work space.
Its a sad fact but most workers do not consciously think about their workspace, although sub consciously it has a great effect.
When’s the last time you thought about office design? Would you be proud to show your office to family and friends? Are you comfortable in your workplace? These are all questions which designers have in mind when creating modern workspace.
The average full-time employee works 1,800 hours per year, most of which are likely in an office. This is a great case study featuring Jigsaw XYZ who recently redesigned their London headquarters.
This installation got us us thinking about how our space impacts the team.
The creativity and thought which has gone into this design is exceptional. All staff positions boast adjustable desks, modern chairs and relaxed socially inspired layouts. The coupling of plant-life meandering across the ceiling and real clay brick slips on the wall brings a very calming and chilled atmosphere.
Ample amounts of natural light and scenic city views help to create an office built for productivity and purpose as well as promote ideas and integration.
Sometimes, we can be blinkered by what design trends and up and coming styles are out there. The world is such a vast cauldron of eclectic, modern, traditional and futuristic ideas that clarity is sometimes hard to achieve.
This design is one that does not struggle with any identity. The creative mix of colour and textures especially from the brick slip cladding is something that goes together as well as peas and carrots.
Real clay brick slips were used for the main feature wall in this dynamically designed office. Achieving this look the Olde Bayswater blend is the perfect brick slip of choice. Rumbled worn and aged, the Olde Bayswater is a red clay brick type that makes for a perfect exposed brick wall look.
Achieving this look the brick slips are installed using a rapid setting tile adhesive and are pointed using a gun injected pointing mortar.
Using corner slips also means that the look of a real brick can be maintained.
Our Olde Bayswater Blend brick slips offer ample character and a mix of subtle tones that work brilliantly across a feature wall.
Utilising modern design principles and person centered implementation this office is a stunning example of how materials can be used and worked to the benefit of the room. The shape and size of a space can help to determine how a design works, and this case study at Jigsaw XYZ features brick slips successfully to thunderous applause.(Larger images are available to the right side of this page)
