One of the most requested design marriages of recent a year is that of Brick Slips and Industrial Design.

Industrial and Urban interiors are in high demand and brick slips are a key material in the realisation of this modern trend.

Industrial design trends are everywhere, you only have to look at everyday life. Coffee shops and offices to every interior design magazine, urban style is now a crucial part of interior decor, and our Brick Slips are helping to realise this trend.

""

A history of Brick Slips and Industrial Design

Brick Slips and Industrial Design is not new, brick slips are not a new product, neither is industrial design. Urban and industrial design really came into style in 1970s America, in Manhattan, New York City. Hence the saying ‘we are looking for a new York style design’.

""

The surge in popularity comes from a growing need for realism and aesthetic history. A room that has been designed with Urban and industrial themes is purposefully looking back to a time where industry and raw materials were at the forefront of life.

A stark and direct contrast to the flat pack repetition designs of the early 2000s.

The great thing about brick slips is that when they are used they instantly transform the age and feel of a space.

Made from clay and cut from real bricks, brick slips add the raw reality needed to convincingly recreate and industrial themed space.

""

Urban style is all about embracing character, both of the space and the pieces that fill it, using brick slips within the design process almost certainly creates a bold statement of individuality and style.
