Sandalwood brick slips showing just how versatile they can be.
Introduction
Old Watermill brick slips thunder full steam ahead in this inspiring case study.
Trainline are one of Europe’s leading independent rail and coach platforms.
High tech in structure and a business that applauded for its futuristic concepts and models.
The recent refit of their London Headquarters has proven just how current and conceptual this rail industry leading business is.
Design
Every office design and fit out project is interesting based on its own individual merits. Every now and then a client comes along where the nature of their business really does permeate through the facility that harbors them.
From drawing board the designers knew exactly the kind of look and feel that they wanted, ensuring that area was designed based on the function of the space.
Swatches of our brick slips and samples featured within the design process from early days. A whole hose of samples were sent out in order for our clients to choose the right surface for this crazy and modern build.
The environment needed to be a stimulating and communicative area that promoted collaboration and the sharing of ideas.
From the seating to the bold colour walls each space needed to be bright and bold, but also professional and flexible enough to be used for different tasks.
Using our Olde Watermill brick slips meant that there were snapshots of a New York loft house theme.
Product
Olde Watermill brick slips were used throughout the space.
Brick work has a history of working well in thinking spaces. This concept has been amplified to perfection within the meeting room spaces where large feature walls of red brick dominate.
White bricks feature heavily in areas of signage, creating a textured backdrop illuminating the companies logos.
The white bricks were created by paining our Olde Watermill brick slips with a white masonry paint. A great and simple way of getting two different surfaces from one product.
Light grey pointing mortar and rapid set adhesive were used throughout the installation. Spacing the brick slips with our 10mm brick slip spacers.
Result
This is a triumphant installation that accurately reflects the culture and brand of Trainline.
This is a company that is passionate about the technology, and has shown the same passion throughout their new office space.
A beautiful example of how a traditionally looking brick slip can be used within a modern and stylish design. This is a glorious case study that showcases a space that will help develop ideas for its inhabitants.
